Gallery - European IPSC Rifle Championship
The first ever Level IV 2009 European IPSC Rifle Championship were held in Norway, two competitors from Namibia attended this historic event. The competitors were Mr E P Viljoen and Mr J J du Plessis who both competed in Standard Semi-Automatic Division to represent Namibia. They both had to shoot the Pre-Match and work the Main Match as Range Official to mitigate some of the cost incurred as no assistance or sponsorships were received. Namibia Breweries, Windhoek Lager however gave them some shirts and a track suit as kit.
The competition was extremely challenging and has been declared an “unofficial” world championship as the best IPSC practical riflemen and –women attended to competition form all over the world. Over 250 competitors from over 20 countries from all continents, except Australia, attended. The venue was near Kongsberg on the military base Heistadmoen, where all competitors and officials were accommodated in the barracks.
